Sending clear imaging before you travel helps us plan implants, All-on-4, zirconia options, or cavitation care accurately—so your days in Costa Rica are spent treating, not waiting for scans that could have been shared earlier.
What to Send If You Already Have Imaging
- Panoramic X-ray (OPG) — useful first look for most restorative cases
- CBCT / cone-beam CT — preferred for implant and All-on-4 planning when available
- Periapicals — helpful for single-tooth or endodontic concerns
- Date of the scan and any radiology report PDF
File Formats That Work Best
DICOM folders (zipped), high-resolution JPEG/PNG exports, or PDF reports from your imaging center. Avoid heavily compressed phone photos of a lightbox when possible—detail matters for bone height and nerve position.
If You Do Not Have Recent Scans
We can still start with a remote consult using photos and history, then take CBCT on site in Costa Rica. Recent imaging (ideally within 6–12 months, depending on the case) simply shortens day-one planning for travelers from the US and Canada.
Privacy and Sharing
Use the secure channel our patient care team provides (email or portal instructions). Do not post scans on public social media. Include your full name and date of birth so files match your chart.
How Imaging Changes Your Trip
With good pre-travel CBCT, many implant and All-on-4 patients confirm candidacy before booking, reduce surprise grafting discussions on arrival, and keep the 5-day surgical timeline on track.
