Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care. The key is good oral hygiene and regular check-ups—similar to natural teeth, but with a few specific considerations.
Daily Care
Brush twice daily with a soft-bristle brush, including around the implant crown and gum line. Floss or use interdental brushes to clean between implants and adjacent teeth. Avoid aggressive scrubbing, which can irritate the gums.
Protect Your Investment
Avoid chewing ice, hard candy, or using your teeth as tools. If you grind, a night guard can protect both natural teeth and implants. Smoking increases the risk of peri-implantitis (implant infection)—quitting improves long-term success.
Regular Check-ups
See your dentist every 6–12 months for exams and professional cleanings. We check implant stability, gum health, and your bite. Early intervention prevents small issues from becoming big problems.
